They also protect the scar from clothing rubbing and from little kicks while you feed your baby, so you get protection and scar care at the same time.

Using the strips with the roller and gel

We recommend starting with the strips, because they give the most protection while the area is tender. In the early stages the scar can be too sore to massage directly, so you can use our Massage Roller over the strips to stimulate blood flow to the area. Once you have finished all 6 strips, move on to our Silicone Scar Gel. You can also start with the gel if you prefer.

Important Note: Please check with your GP or obstetrician at your postpartum check-up before starting silicone products. Your wound should be fully closed: this is usually around 4-6 weeks after the birth of your baby.

How to use

Clean - Wash your hands and gently clean the scar area. Ensure the skin is completely clean and dry before application.
Apply - Remove the protective backing and place the silicone strip directly over the fully healed scar.
Wear - Allow your skin to gradually adjust to the silicone. Build up your wearing time as tolerated until the strip can be comfortably worn for extended periods each day.
Remove & Wash - Gently remove the strip and wash it using warm water. Allow it to air dry completely before reapplying.
Reuse - Once clean and dry, reapply the strip. When not in use, keep your strip in the protective storage case provided.
Replace - Each strip may be reused for approximately 1-2 weeks with proper care. Replace the strip when it is damaged, no longer adheres adequately or can no longer be kept clean

When can I start using silicone scar sheets or silicone scar gel on my c-section scar?

Silicone scar products are generally introduced once the incision has fully closed, with no open skin, scabbing or discharge, which is often around two weeks after surgery but can vary. Generally most post caesarean mums can start using the strips from 4 weeks. Check with your doctor or midwife for their recommendation on when your scar is ready before you begin.
