Pregnancy and Baby Co. – Massage Roller
Our Massage Roller is a gentle yet powerful tool to support your C-section recovery. By adding it to your scar care routine, you can actively improve healing while enjoying the comfort and relaxation that massage brings. Designed with mums in mind, it’s safe, easy to use, and perfectly complements our Silicone Scar Strips and Silicone Scar Gel.
How It Helps
-
Boosts Circulation – Rolling over scar tissue stimulates blood flow, delivering essential nutrients and oxygen that promote natural healing.
-
Softens Scar Tissue – Gentle pressure helps break down dense or raised tissue, making your scar softer and more pliable over time.
-
Reduces Tightness & Discomfort – Eases tension in the scar and surrounding skin, improving comfort and flexibility.
-
Relieves Pain – Massage can reduce sensitivity and provide soothing relief during recovery.
-
Use with Strips & Gel – The roller can be used directly over your Silicone Scar Strips for added stimulation, or with our Silicone Scar Gel to help the formula absorb more effectively. (Always wash the roller afterwards.)
-
Encourages Relaxation – Beyond physical benefits, using the roller is a calming, stress-relieving ritual that supports emotional well-being.
-
Enhances Appearance – Consistent use may result in a smoother, flatter scar and restored confidence in your body.
Simple to Use
Apply the roller gently over your scar area, starting with light pressure and gradually increasing as comfort allows. It’s safe to use over your silicone scar strips or directly with our silicone scar gel once your wound has fully closed.
⚕️ Important Note: Please only begin scar massage once your wound is completely healed (usually 4–6 weeks postpartum). Always check with your GP or obstetrician before starting any scar massage.

When can I start using the massage roller?
Begin from approximately4- 6 weeks postpartum, once the wound is fully closed and your GP or obstetrician has given clearance for scar care. Do not use the roller on an open or unhealed wound.
Do I use the roller over the silicone strips or directly on the scar?
Both, at different phases. From approximately 6 weeks, you can use the roller gently over the silicone strips as they sit on the scar. The strips remain in place as a protective layer while the roller adds gentle stimulation through the silicone. As your strip course completes and recovery progresses, use the roller directly on the healing skin with a small amount of the scar gel.
What is scar tethering and can the roller help?
Scar tethering is the pulling or dragging sensation that many women experience months after a C-section, caused by the scar adhering to deeper layers of tissue. Regular gentle scar massage, including with the roller, helps keep the scar tissue mobile and may help reduce this sensation with consistent use. If you experience significant pain or discomfort during massage, reduce pressure and consult your GP.
How much pressure should I use with the roller?
Use light, consistent pressure. The goal is gentle stimulation, not vigorous friction. If the area is sensitive or uncomfortable, begin with the roller over the silicone strips, which provide a protective layer, before progressing to direct contact.
Is the roller included in the Complete C-Section Healing Kit?
Yes. The Complete C-Section Healing Kit ($130) includes the TGA-registered silicone strips, the Centella Asiatica scar gel, and this massage roller as a complete three-phase system. Buying the kit saves $21 compared with purchasing all three separately.
